You should be careful what you write. You never know when a future employer might read it.
When did we forget our dreams?
The infinite possibilities each day holds should stagger the mind. The sheer number of experiences I could have is uncountable, breathtaking, and I'm sitting here refreshing my inbox. We live trapped in loops, reliving a few days over and over, and we envision only a handful of paths laid out ahead of us. We see the same things each day, we respond the same way, we think the same thoughts, each day a slight variation on the last, every moment smoothly following the gentle curves of societal norms. We act like if we just get through today, tomorrow our dreams will come back to us.
And no, I don't have all the answers. I don't know how to jolt myself into seeing what each moment could become. But I do know one thing: the solution doesn't involve watering down my every little idea and creative impulse for the sake of some day easing my fit into a mold. It doesn't involve tempering my life to better fit someone's expectations. It doesn't involve constantly holding back for fear of shaking things up.

( just grow up, kid. )
I was told when I grew up I could be anything I wanted: a fireman, a policeman, a doctor — even president, it seemed. And for the first time in the history of mankind, something new, called an astronaut. But like so many kids brought up on a steady diet of westerns, I always wanted to be the avenging cowboy hero — that lone voice in the wilderness, fighting corruption and evil wherever I found it, and standing for freedom, truth, and justice. And in my heart of hearts I still track the remnants of that dream wherever I go, in my endless ride into the setting sun.

In all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with people's money, or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative.

There’s a slight chance that the Senate is wasting time
June 9th, 2010. Major events impacting America that day were led by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill – in its 49th day by that point. Dark clouds were looming over policy for the 2nd half of the year as more … Continue reading
If anyone was wondering, Israel still doesn’t care what you think.
Since the election of a government containing the political wing of the terrorist group Hamas in 2007, Israel has put the entire territory and its population of 1.5 million on a “diet“. This diet has led to a humanitarian crisis … Continue reading
The healthcare battle rages on
Last night on MSNBC’s Countdown with Keith Olberman, the rage over the idiocy that some are taking this health care debate to was once again summed up much more eloquently than I ever could do it. Names are named, too.
Bill Maher with some brutal truth about America
This will quickly devlove into a couple of camps: – Yes, he’s right! – How can he talk about America like that?! Bill Maher, a comedian with some guts, channels the side of him that made the movie Religious and … Continue reading

Iran protests in video (20)
The following post contains nothing but 20 videos from over the last few days. A fair warning, some of them are graphic:
Blood runs in the streets of Tehran
There is a logical end to what happens when people without guns stand up to people with guns. It’s only a matter of time until the people with guns attempt to take control of a situation at the expense of … Continue reading
Iran learns people can be silenced for only so long
As the minutes go by, the world is learning more and more how an event that was believed to mean so little could actually portend a sea change in a volatile region of the world. The 2009 Iranian Presidential election … Continue reading
Video: Tea Baggers get… insert your own creative phrase here.
Short followup to my most recent posting follows. A progressive blogger (wish I had a link to his actual blog) decided to attend one of the awesomely-named Tea Bag parties where a small segment of middle and lower income workers … Continue reading
“Teabagging! Yes, teabagging! Why can’t you take us seriously?”
In the event it seems like years since the 2008 election’s results have come to fruition, namely the transition of power to the newly elected government, a reminder is needed that it has been exactly all of 12 weeks (as … Continue reading
