You should be careful what you write. You never know when a future employer might read it.
When did we forget our dreams?
The infinite possibilities each day holds should stagger the mind. The sheer number of experiences I could have is uncountable, breathtaking, and I'm sitting here refreshing my inbox. We live trapped in loops, reliving a few days over and over, and we envision only a handful of paths laid out ahead of us. We see the same things each day, we respond the same way, we think the same thoughts, each day a slight variation on the last, every moment smoothly following the gentle curves of societal norms. We act like if we just get through today, tomorrow our dreams will come back to us.
And no, I don't have all the answers. I don't know how to jolt myself into seeing what each moment could become. But I do know one thing: the solution doesn't involve watering down my every little idea and creative impulse for the sake of some day easing my fit into a mold. It doesn't involve tempering my life to better fit someone's expectations. It doesn't involve constantly holding back for fear of shaking things up.

( just grow up, kid. )
I was told when I grew up I could be anything I wanted: a fireman, a policeman, a doctor — even president, it seemed. And for the first time in the history of mankind, something new, called an astronaut. But like so many kids brought up on a steady diet of westerns, I always wanted to be the avenging cowboy hero — that lone voice in the wilderness, fighting corruption and evil wherever I found it, and standing for freedom, truth, and justice. And in my heart of hearts I still track the remnants of that dream wherever I go, in my endless ride into the setting sun.

In all those things which deal with people, be liberal, be human. In all those things which deal with people's money, or their economy, or their form of government, be conservative.

All aboard with failure this good
The meme against Obama by those who are of the mindset to be against him & his policies is already set in stone, and it is to repeat what have you done for me lately as often as possible, while … Continue reading
A coup, complete
In today’s edition: Iran’s coup becomes official, the U.S. ponders the good bank/bad bank solution, and the Rooskies are coming —– As the President, I swear to Almighty God before the Holy Quran and the Iranian nation that I will … Continue reading
Iran moves toward outlawing opposition
In today’s edition: What might be the beginning of the end of the Iranian opposition, success is apparently a warning of disaster, and a college graduate displays they slept through any and all legal classes they may have taken. —– … Continue reading
Nothing wrong with too much of a good thing, right? (QH: 30 July 2009)
In today’s edition: people actually bought cars, we just paid for a lot of bonuses, and the Iranian fight goes on. —– The U.S. government’s initiative to get people back into buying cars and getting gas guzzlers off the road, … Continue reading
The birthers? How much further can a party fall? (QH: 27 July 2009)
The upcoming celebration of the 50th year since Hawaii was admitted to the union might just have some political fireworks – the remarkably useless, pointless, idiotic, and nonsensical kind. To combat a rather strange charge in the minds of those … Continue reading
The Band Plays on in Iran (QH: 25 July 2009)
Protesters gathered in dozens of cities around the world today to express their support for the Iranian people in their seemingly more and more long-shot hopes for real reform in that even-more-plain-as-day dictatorship. It’s crazy to think but before the … Continue reading
Call a spade a spade, and don’t step back from it (QH 24 July 2009)
Our latest distraction from wars and the economy comes in the form of a tidbit that came from President Obama’s most recent news conference. President Obama called “stupid” the case of Henry Louis Gates Jr., a Harvard University professor who … Continue reading

Iran protests in video (20)
The following post contains nothing but 20 videos from over the last few days. A fair warning, some of them are graphic:
Blood runs in the streets of Tehran
There is a logical end to what happens when people without guns stand up to people with guns. It’s only a matter of time until the people with guns attempt to take control of a situation at the expense of … Continue reading
